applesauce fruitcake


  1. preheat oven to 250º

  2. boil 5 minutes, cool

    • 3 c. applesauce

    • 1 c. butter

    • 2 c. sugar



  3. sift together, add to applesauce mix

    • 4 1/2 c. flour

    • 1 t. salt

    • 3 t. baking soda

    • 1 t. nutmeg

    • 1 t. cloves



  4. mix in

    • 1 lb. dates

    • 1 lb. raisins

    • cherries

    • plenty of pecans

    • craisins



  5. bake about 1 hour in small greased loaf pans



  • note: decorate small loaves with cherries and pecans

  • yield: 11 small loaves
