Angel Food Cake

This is especially good made with fresh eggs, served with sweetened strawberries and whipped cream.
  1. Preheat oven to 345°
  2. Stir together, then set aside
    • 1 c. flour
    • 3/4 c. plus 2 T. sugar
  3. Beat until foamy
    • 12 egg whites
    • 1 1/2 t. cream of tartar
    • 1/4 t. salt
  4. Add, then beat until stiff peaks form
    • 3/4 c. sugar, 2 T. at a time
  5. Fold in
    • 1 1/2 t. vanilla
    • 1/2 t. almond abstract
  6. Sprinkle in flour-sugar, folding in just until mixed
  7. Bake 30-35 minutes in ungreased tube pan
